NEW FOR 2018

Expressive & Experimental Painting

A new Expressive & Experimental painting course with Ruth Bateman.
at Huxtable Farm, situated in the beautiful North Devon Countryside.
23rd, 24th & 25th October 2018.

A great opportunity to join Ruth for three fantastic days of painting, within the breath taking and diverse landscape of  Huxtable Farm.  Choose to paint the stunning panoramic views or explore the pond, stream & woodland.

The aim of the course is to explore the exhilarating world of painting and mixed media and set aside many of the anxieties associated around using mixed media and painting.

This fascinating, practical and fun 3-day workshop will equip beginners and  professionals alike with new techniques and skills.

You will gain a greater understanding of the different applications of mixed media, whilst being allowed the freedom to experiment, and create exciting visual and textual paintings.

Learn to think creatively, process ideas cohesively and compliment your paintings.  A mixture of exercises and self directed painting will allow for an informative and exciting course.

Using the beautiful landscape around the farm you will have the luxury of being able to paint outside in various different locations, all under Ruth’s guidance.

Groups are deliberately kept small and there will be plenty of time to develop and formulate ideas and lines of enquiries. Ruth will be on hand to support and advise throughout, showing you new techniques and skills, whilst encouraging your own visual language to blossom.

There will be opportunities to also go off-site to sketch and paint depending on the group and enjoy a visit to Ruth’s studio.
